Hey, my beautiful readers!

The day has finally arrived! I’ve been hearing rumours from my neighbours about a large and extravagant party. And then the next day, Mr Rochester comes to Ingram Manor (practically demanding) that I attend his party. Well… he invited Mary and my brother too but still… he was asking me personally to make sure I was going! Oh readers, I am so happy! I am blogging from Mother’s room right now – we are both so busy trying to find gowns and shawls to wear for the party. I heard that he invited everyone within a three days’ ride of his home! I really must find that white dress and amber scarf; the last time I saw Mr Rochester he complemented it. Ugh! I just wish Mary and brother dearest didn’t look like they were about to be sent to the gallows; it’s just a party. To be honest, it might even do them some good. He and Mary are too quiet. The least they can do is help me pack my belongings… or provide accompaniment on the piano for me to practice my scales. I do hope Mr Rochester will ask me to sing with him at Thornfield. He has such a lovely deep voice.

I got back from riding my mare Freida just under an hour ago, and Mary has just given me the official invitations as well as the guest list from the mail! Ugh! Let us just say that… there are certain names on that list that I do not want the pleasure of seeing. But of course, the gentle Mrs Colonel Dent will be there so hopefully we can resume our previous conversation on extremely fickle rose bushes! You see readers, at Ingram Manor our rose bushes are well taken care of, but Mrs Dent does not know how to care for her own. It is a good thing she has come and asked me! I would hate to see beautiful rose bushes die at the hands of the incompetent.

But anyway, (sorry, you know how I ramble) I was ecstatic to see that the young and dashing Mr Frederick Lynn would also be attending the party! At our last encounter, I do remember him possibly (hopefully!) taking a liking to Mary! Oh, how I teased her that night! She even let me style her hair! Oh, she is so smitten with him… I just hope that she will be able to talk to him this time, instead of just listening. I’m sure that she knows almost everything about him, but he hardly knows her. Well… if she can get a man at this party, then maybe I can too! And possibly our brother can also (at least!) talk to one of the fine ladies there. Just not… a certain pair of siblings… but they are of no value to the likes of our family anyway.

But… Mr Rochester would no doubt look dashing at the party! If it is as extravagant as his last parties, then we will not be disappointed. He is a man of many talents, and despite his rough exterior he definitely knows how to entertain his guests!

Totally Blanche xx
